Virginia’s Story

How long did you wait before deciding on physical therapy?
I had the pain for a few months but I came to PT as soon as the doctor recommended it.

What was the obstacle in coming to see a physical therapist?
I pushed it off because my husband passed away and I figured my back pain would eventually just go away. I started about 4 weeks earlier at another physical therapy clinic. And when I went there, it seemed like it was pretty strenuous. I really didn’t want to go. I kept telling him, ‘it’s hurting my knee, it’s hurting my knee’ with the knee presses. One day out of the blue my doctor called me and gave me a list of a few other places for me to go. I checked them out and decided to come here because I liked your reviews.

What was and how bad was your problem before coming to PPT?
Well I’m a shopper. When I would go shopping, I would walk through Macy’s or something and I would have to sit down halfway through because of the burning down my leg. It was numbing my toes and I knew something was wrong.

What was your back pain causing you to miss out on?
Everything that I enjoy. Shopping, running around, traveling, walking, just my daily life.

Did you try anything else that didn’t work?
I tried therapy at another place for four weeks, I tried stretching, I tried taking medication that the doctor gave me and nothing was satisfying it.

What would you say to someone who was suffering from back pain but hesitant on getting physical therapy?
I would tell them to come to Preferred Physical Therapy. Right away they started giving me the treatments and exercises, which I do at home and I don’t mind them. When I came here, I was relaxed and went through everything they told me. I feel that if I wouldn’t have come here, I would be in pretty bad shape because I couldn’t walk. The staff is wonderful. I would recommend anyone to come here.

What did you enjoy the most about coming here
They were all good experiences. When I left here, I felt like I had accomplished something. Also, I felt like my problem was important you all of you and you were always concerned about my wellbeing.

What was the one thing that you wanted to achieve and did we help you to achieve it?
I wanted to enjoy shopping. doing my household chores and travel without pain and pills and yes I have achieved that.
