Dr. Nick Hunter is a graduate of University of Utah where he received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Since 2010, Dr. Nick has administrative experience in physical therapy, sports and orthopedic fields. Dr. Nick Hunter has worked in a variety of settings (hospital, outpatient, private practice), and started Preferred Physical Therapy with the goal of providing a different rehabilitation experience. An experience that will allow patients to again find joy in their journey. One that will put patients back on the right track so they can get back to living a healthy, independent lifestyle free from pain medications, injections and surgery.

Dr. Nick Hunter has a manual osteopathic approach to patient treatments, with an emphasis on bio-mechanical analysis, correction and return to function.

He has worked in educational development serving as a mentor and clinical instructor to local Physical Therapy Students.

My foot was in bad shape, my entire foot was numb and all the way up to my knee. I had a hard time walking, I couldn’t keep shoes on my feet. I was very unstable, and very off balance. My left leg was always in pain my entire life, it was so bad and all I was looking for was a cure.

I had a torn tendon in the left ankle. It was pretty bad, a lot of swelling, mobility was bad. It took me, probably, two weeks after I saw the foot doctor to decide to come into physical therapy. I waited mostly because of cost, and just hoping it would heal on its own, which it didn't! I was missing out on everything, it was very hard to go to work, which was horrible. I tried all I could think of to make my ankle feel better, I tried elevating and I also tried wrapping, I had it wrapped three times by the foot doctor, and that did not do anything.

I decided to try physical therapy I was hopeful it would help me walk better and move better. Now that I've been and have experienced physical therapy, if my family member or friend had pain and they were procrastinating over going to see someone, I would tell them go, do it. Go through it, it works. I have to say my favorite thing about coming into Preferred is the staff! They are the best, and of course feeling better, that was great too.

If anyone is currently skeptical about physical therapy I would say, "Go and do it, and don't put up with the pain.” I’m so glad to finally have my life back, I am just so grateful. I enjoy being able to do what I want to do.
