Paula’s Story

How long did you wait before deciding on physical therapy and what was the obstacle?

I was instructed right after surgery to start physical therapy. So, I didn’t try anything on my own prior to coming.

What was and how bad was your problem prior to receiving physical therapy?

[My surgery] was to reattach two tendons and remove part of the fractured bone.

What was your pain preventing you from doing?

The pain was really bad. I could hardly walk.

What would you say to someone who was experiencing pain but skeptical about physical therapy?

I would recommend this place to anybody: friend, family, stranger, whatever.

Out of all the things that you enjoyed about coming to Preferred Physical Therapy, what did you enjoy the most?

The group here is wonderful. They treat you like family, so you never feel like it’s a chore for you to have to go. My whole, overall experience was wonderful!

What were you wanting to achieve and did we help you to achieve it?

Absolutely! I am now walking without a limp, there’s no pain, there’s no popping.  Everything they told me to do, as long as I followed their plan, it worked wonderful.

What to Watch Out For:

Pain scale: 7-9/10
Pain description: Burning sensation and sharp stabbing pain over the outside of the foot
Worse with:
  • Going up/down stairs
  • Walking with heels on
Better with:
  • Walking with flats and resting
