Pattie’s Story
How long did you wait before deciding on physical therapy and what was the obstacle?
It was 4 to 6 weeks [of pain]. You always imagine it’s going to get better and then you sort of think… “No, this isn’t”. I had been to other physical therapists before and they just give you exercises and you think, “Well I can do these at home.” There wasn’t the caring there or, I felt, the knowledge.
What was it and how bad was your problem prior to receiving physical therapy?
My knee was in terrible pain.
What was your pain preventing you from doing?
I couldn’t get in or out of the car comfortably or walk without pain.
What would you say to someone who was experiencing pain but skeptical about physical therapy?
See what [physical therapy] can do for you. You shouldn’t be in pain. My father used to say, “You use it or your lose it.” and I think that’s very right.
Out of all the things that you enjoyed about coming to Preferred Physical Therapy, what did you enjoy the most?
I love the manipulation part. You can feel that deep massage. And the atmosphere here is wonderful. It’s very friendly – from everybody! You feel like you’re coming home.
What were you wanting to achieve and did we help you to achieve it?
Oh, yes!
