Pat’s Story

How long did you wait before deciding to get physical therapy? And what was the obstacle in coming to physical therapy?
It had to be about three months. I had to wait for the doctor to do the surgery first, and then it was a month after the surgery that they told me I needed physical therapy so I came here.

What was and how bad was your problem prior to physical therapy?
I had a torn meniscus. After the surgery I was feeling better, but I still couldn’t function like I could before I tore it. Once I came here, after the second session I was already starting to feel a lot better.

What was your knee pain causing you to miss out on?
I couldn’t ride my bike, go for walks and I couldn’t hike the mountain.

What would you say to someone who was experiencing knee pain but hesitant about getting physical therapy?
Oh I would definitely tell them to come to physical therapy after any kind of surgery. You guys are great here. I felt comfortable coming here everyday.

Out of all the things that you enjoyed about coming to Preferred Physical Therapy, what did you enjoy the most?
The surroundings, everyone was polite. They made you feel right at home actually.

What were you wanting to achieve and did we help you to achieve it?
I wanted to get back to what I was like before my surgery, which was being active, doing lots of walking, hiking and doing things around the house. Once I started coming here, every week I felt like I could do a little bit more of what I wanted to do each day.
