John’s Story

How long did you wait before deciding on physical therapy and what was the obstacle?

I had pain in my shoulder for about 8 years before I came in for help.

What was it and how bad was your problem prior to receiving physical therapy?

It was mostly mild but when I was active and doing something I enjoyed whether that be golf or pickleball.

What was your pain preventing you from doing?

When I got too active it would be painful and I wasn’t always able to participate in the sports that I enjoyed.

What would you say to someone who was experiencing pain but skeptical about physical therapy?

You shouldn’t be nervous about anything. I figured my problem could not be fixed with physical therapy. Just coming in and getting it checked on the very first day you can see results.

Out of all the things that you enjoyed about coming to Preferred Physical Therapy, what did you enjoy the most?

The people are very friendly. It is easy to get appointments and everyone is very helpful in solving your issues.

What did you want to achieve with your treatment, and did we help you achieve it?

I wanted it to stop hurting. More importantly, learning the underlying issues so that I can work on them over time and make them better and understand how to take care of them without having to rely on medications. Absolutely, when I first came in I was unable to raise my arm above my shoulder, I now have the full range of motion. The results were amazing.

What to Watch Out For:

Pain scale: 7/10
Pain description: Sharp pain. Achy at times.
Worse with:
  • Lifting
  • Sports
