Jimmie’s Story

What was the obstacle in seeking out a physical therapist?
I though this condition would get better over time, but it didn’t. It actually got worse to the point where I couldn’t get out of bed in the morning.

What was and how bad was your problem before coming to Preferred Physical Therapy?
The problem was a pain that originated in my lower back and the pain went down my leg and into my foot. The pain was a nine to ten out of a ten pain scale.

What was your pain causing you to miss out on?
It was a quality of life issue. I couldn’t function, I couldn’t work. I had a lot of pain and had to just sit at home, hoping it would get better. And it didn’t.

Did you try anything else that didn’t work?
I actually tried heat, over the counter pain medications and my primary care provider wrote me a prescription for a muscle relaxant and a narcotic- which didn’t work all that well.

What would you say to someone who was hesitant on getting physical therapy?
I would tell them that I think they really need to reconsider because it really does work. It helped me tremendously. My quality of life is a lot better and this has happened over a period of only two weeks and I feel like I am able to function and go back to work.

Out of all the things that you enjoyed about coming to Preferred Physical Therapy, what did you enjoy the most?
The staff is very professional, very kind and they remember your name when you walk in the front door. I found it a very pleasing place to go to.

What were you wanting to achieve and did we help you to achieve it?
Being able to go to work, being able to work around the house and ultimately increasing my quality of life and I am now able to do all three of those.
