Dennis’s Story

How long did you wait before deciding on physical therapy and what was the obstacle?

I was experiencing issues for a couple of years. I waited because I had rotator cuff tear surgery and I did not want to go through that again.

What was it and how bad was your problem prior to receiving physical therapy?

A lack of movement. Anytime I had to reach, I couldn’t reach for a seat buckle or turn around and grab something it would hurt.

What was your pain preventing you from doing?

Mainly golfing, I haven’t golfed in over a year now but I am ready now.

What would you say to someone who was experiencing pain but skeptical about physical therapy?

Nothing really bad can come of it. If you let the people who are knowledgeable strengthen those muscles. Even if you have had the surgery you can still strengthen those muscles.

Out of all the things that you enjoyed about coming to Preferred Physical Therapy, what did you enjoy the most?

The friendliest of everybody. My name is Denny but they called me Norm because I requested it.

What were you wanting to achieve and did we help you to achieve it?

I wanted to achieve freedom of movement and to get rid of it. I couldn’t sleep at night because no matter where I moved it hurt and I could not sleep. Yes, absolutely I am almost cured right now. I can move my arm in all different directions without pain.

What to Watch Out For:

Pain scale: 7/10
Pain description: Dull, Ache
Worse with:
  • Reaching
  • Doing Anything Active
Better with:
  • Rest
