Cheryl’s Story
How long did you wait before deciding to seek out a physical therapist?
Probably too long, but I injured my foot almost three months before I got to PT.
Why did you feel as though you had to wait that long? As in, what was the obstacle in coming to physical therapy?
I guess I was just being stubborn. Being a nurse, I figured that I could just work it out myself.
What was and how bad was your problem prior to physical therapy?
I had injured my foot and as it progressed, it just got harder to walk on, especially barefoot.
What was your foot pain causing you to miss out on?
Being able to walk with my dog and going to the gym to workout was very difficult to do.
Did you try anything else that didn’t work?
I tried icing, heating, and taking Advil but it would only work for a little bit. It seemed as though just walking on it would cause pain, whether I was taking pills or not.
What would you say to someone who was hesitant on getting physical therapy?
I would definitely recommend this place. I have been to a couple of other physical therapy clinics for back issues but this is the first time I’ve felt like part of the family. I never had to wait for someone to treat me, there was always someone around to help.
What did you enjoy the most about coming to Preferred PT?
I loved being greeted when I walked in the door. It’s like the show “Cheers” where everybody knows your name.
What were you hoping to achieve and did we help you to achieve it?
My goal was to get rid of the pain and as of today, I am pain free.
