Mike’s Story

How long did you wait before deciding to get physical therapy?
For the first two and a half months, the pain would come on and then in a day or two it would go away. It stopped going away for two weeks straight and that’s when I came in.

What was and how bad was your pain prior to physical therapy?
I had a pain in my right hip and down into my thigh. I believe it was from mountain biking. I had to start limiting the rides I would go on. It got to the point where I would have to use my arm to help lift my leg out of my vehicle.

Did you try anything that didn’t work?
Just different stretches I had seen on You Tube. I gave them a try and they just weren’t making any difference.

Did you have an understanding of what physical therapy could do for you before coming in to PPT?
That it would teach me how to actually correct the problem, instead of the symptoms.

What did you enjoy the most about coming to Preferred PT?
I like everyone who works here and that we accomplished everything that I set out to accomplish. Which was to get rid of the pain and get back to what I was doing.

What would you say to anyone having hip pain but hesitant on getting physical therapy?
I would tell them to go ahead, come in and stop waiting. They have nothing to lose. Just come in and find out for yourself. Everyone here will prove that you should have come in and you’ll be glad that you did.

What were you wanting to achieve and did we help you to achieve it?
Between the stretches and different exercises to keep myself from having this problem again, that was really what I wanted to find out. How to fix the problem and how to keep the problem from happening again and we have accomplished both of those.
