Pat’s Story

How long did you wait before deciding on physical therapy and what was the obstacle?

I’ve been having problems for probably 3 years. I thought it was going to go away but it didn’t so I finally decided to come in.

What was it and how bad was your problem prior to receiving physical therapy?

I was in exhausting back pain. I couldn’t climb steps or stand for long. It then made housework difficult and I couldn’t hike.

What was your pain preventing you from doing?

I tried stretching and a massage therapist. It only helped temporarily and I needed a solution.

What would you say to someone who was experiencing pain but skeptical about physical therapy?

I think you should go in and see a physical therapist and find out the best course of action.

Out of all the things that you enjoyed about coming to Preferred Physical Therapy, what did you enjoy the most?

I enjoyed the improvement I made. The environment is very positive and people are taken care of and watched over.

What did you want to achieve with your treatment, and did we help you achieve it?

I wanted to be able and hike, get back to riding horses, and get back to doing whatever I needed to do without pain. Yes, you helped me to achieve my goal.

What to Watch Out For:

Pain scale: 8/10
Pain description: Dull and achy most of the time, sharp during certain movements.
Worse with:
  • Standing for too long
  • Sitting for too long
  • Sitting to stand
Better with:
  • Rest
