Naomi’s Story

How long did you wait before deciding to seek a physical therapist?
I didn’t really wait very long because prior to my surgery, my doctor’s office contacted me about getting scheduled for physical therapy. Because I had been to Preferred before for a previous injury, I was pretty anxious to come back. So I didn’t wait at all.

What was and how bad was your problem before coming to Preferred Physical Therapy?
Well, I had a bunionectomy so I came here post surgery. I felt horrible so I came as soon as I was weight-bearing. To be honest, I was barely walking when I first started therapy.

What was your pain preventing you from doing?
Mainly walking to any extent, hiking and overall just working out.

Did you have experience with physical therapy before?
I did and it was actually at this clinic so I knew that I was going to have a good outcome.

What would you say to someone who was hesitant on getting physical therapy?
I would highly recommend Preferred Physical Therapy just because of the professionalism and the attitude of everybody. They just do an amazing job.

Out of all the things that you enjoyed about coming to Preferred Physical Therapy, what did you enjoy the most?
Everybody just takes such good care of you and they know what they’re doing. I almost felt pampered. It felt like a day at the spa to be to be honest, so I actually looked forward to coming to therapy twice a week.

What were you wanting to achieve and did we help you to achieve it?
I wanted to get rid of my post-op pain and I wanted to be able to do everything that I could before, which essentially was extensive walking and hiking. I have accomplished all of those things.

Pain scale: 6/10
Pain description: Dull & achy; post-operative pain in big toe
Worse with:
  • Flexion of foot
Better with:

Number of visits: 12
