Marcia’s Story
How long did you wait before deciding to get physical therapy?
I came in once I knew I could get physical therapy. As far as the pain, that was going on for several months before I came in.
What was the obstacle in seeking out a physical therapist?
I didn’t realize that physical therapy was for a regular person. I thought it was something you did after you had surgery, or you were just really old (not that I’m that young but…).
What was and how bad was your problem prior to getting physical therapy?
I started having a pain in my hip and down the side of my leg. That went on for about 6 weeks before I just couldn’t walk anymore.
What did your back pain prevent you from doing?
Walking places where I wanted to go, whether it be shopping or to my grandkid’s games. I missed church for a few weeks because of it too. Just regular life.
Did you try anything else that didn’t work?
I tried some chiropractic treatments,. They gave me a little relief but it just wasn’t getting better.
What would you say to a friend or family member who was experiencing pain, but hesitant on getting physical therapy?
I would tell them that they should go. In fact, I have already encouraged my younger sister. She was having pain and I said ‘go get physical therapy, don’t wait as long as I did’.
Out of all the things that you enjoyed about coming to Preferred Physical Therapy, what did you enjoy the most?
The help I got, the kind people who work here, the caring atmosphere, looking out for me and helping me get better.
What would you say to someone reading this testimonial but skeptical about physical therapy?
I would highly encourage them to try it and to come. And to come to Preferred Physical Therapy. They are well educated and care about helping you get better.
What was your goal and did we help you to achieve it?
Considering I came in using a walking stick and could hardly take steps, I am very grateful that I can now walk on my own again.
