Suzanne’s Story

How long did you wait before deciding on physical therapy and what was the obstacle?
I thought, when my shoulder pain was so bad that I couldn’t even move it, that I might need surgery.

What was and how bad was your problem prior to receiving physical therapy?
My shoulder, it had been bothering me for a few years. It would wake up in the night with it hurting.

What was your pain preventing you from doing?
I have a two year old grandson and an 8 month old granddaughter. Carrying them was harder, I’d have to put them down. Working was a challenge, I’d have to ask for help a lot. Even simple things like getting undressed.

What would you say to someone who was experiencing pain but skeptical about physical therapy?
I think it’s easy to assume that might might have to live with this pain. It’s just something you have to deal with. But if you can go in and work through that and get stronger in that area, then you’ll have a better quality of life.

Out of all the things that you enjoyed about coming to Preferred Physical Therapy, what did you enjoy the most?
I worked with all the physical therapists, if one of them had a question they would ask the other one. I liked how they collaborated and worked together.

What were you wanting to achieve and did we help you to achieve it?
I wanted to be able to do my work tasks and be competent. I’m better now than I was before, so that is very encouraging!
