Mary Ann’s Story

What was it and how bad was your problem prior to receiving physical therapy?
I just got out of bed one morning and I couldn’t put any weight on my leg. And that’s what started it all. I had been here before so when they told me I needed physical therapy, I thought of this place.

What was your pain preventing you from doing?
I couldn’t put any weight on my leg, so there’s not much that I could do. It lasted long enough to where I knew I had to do something about it.

What would you say to someone who was experiencing pain but skeptical about physical therapy?
If you have pain, you should try it out! To me, it’s amazing what you can do.

Out of all the things that you enjoyed about coming to Preferred Physical Therapy, what did you enjoy the most?
I had been to a clinic before this and there wasn’t the care that all of you have shown. That you’re a friend coming in, not just a patient. It’s like taking care of the whole person, not just one part. My daughter has come to my appointments with me and it feels like a family event. You look forward to coming here, you don’t dread it.

What were you wanting to achieve and did we help you to achieve it?
We have a family reunion coming up and the plane leaves Saturday! I didn’t want to be compromised. I didn’t want people to have to take care of me. This was a goal that I have achieved.

What to Watch Out For:

Pain description: Achy and stiff to sharp with weakness depending on the day
Worse with:
  • Going up and down stairs (going up was easier than down)
  • Standing still
Better with:
