Yvonne’s Story

How long did you wait before deciding on physical therapy and what was the obstacle?
Oh, I took about two years before I decided to do something more.

What was and how bad was your problem prior to receiving physical therapy?
I had bursitis and it was very bad. I couldn’t walk very far. I couldn’t every walk half a block before I would have to stop because the pain was so bad. I also had some back issues which didn’t help.

What was your pain preventing you from doing?
I missed out on doing my walks. I loved walking in the mornings and I also loved playing Pickleball and, even, bicycle riding. So, I was missing out on a lot.

What would you say to someone who was experiencing pain but skeptical about physical therapy?
I tried [cortizone] shots in the hip. I tried one in one hip and two in the other and it just didn’t do the trick. It just didn’t help. Definitely get some Physical Therapy.

Out of all the things that you enjoyed about coming to Preferred Physical Therapy, what did you enjoy the most?
Preferred Physical Therapy has been wonderful! The staff is great. Everyone is smiley and happy and nice. So I would definitely recommend therapy, for sure, here at Preferred.

What were you wanting to achieve and did we help you to achieve it?
The number one thing was to get back to more of my exercise that I could do without as much pain… or any pain. If I have problems again, I will definitely come back here.

What to Watch Out For:

Pain scale: 8/10
Pain description: Constant pain in the hip and low back
Worse with:
  • Walking
Better with:
  • Resting
