Nancy’s Story

How long did you wait before deciding to come to physical therapy?
Well, I had surgery, and I had to make a decision prior to my surgery to know where I was going to go. Basically, I came here because my grandson worked here.

What was going on prior to coming to physical therapy?
I had a total knee replacement.

What was this knee pain causing you to miss out on?
I had been walking on crutches because I had completely blown out my knee. I could virtually do nothing; no exercise, walking or shopping.

What would you say to someone who was hesitant about getting physical therapy?
I would tell them that they should check with their doctor and if their doctor approves, go to a physical therapist. I certainly would recommend that they come here. It was a wonderful experience for me.

Out of all the things that you enjoyed about coming here, what was your favorite?
It’s just such a pleasant place to be. Everyone was attentive and professional and it was a relaxed atmosphere which made it easier.

What was your goal and did we help you to achieve it?
I wanted to achieve total mobility with my knee so I could go about my daily activities and go back to work and do the things that make life enjoyable. And exercise! And I am able to do all of that now.
