Frank’s Story

How long did you wait before deciding to get physical therapy?
About three and a half weeks. It was basically my doctors decision.

What was and how bad was your problem before coming to Preferred Physical Therapy?
I had a disc out of place on the left side of my back. The doctor said it was advanced arthritis and I questioned him about it a bit. So he finally said let’s see what physical therapy can do for you.

What was your back pain causing you to miss out on?
It totally took away my hobbies and my golf- basically everything. I love wood-working and going in the garage almost brought me to tears. I knew I couldn’t do anything there.

Did you try anything else that didn’t work?
Yes I have my own tens unit at home but when there wasn’t a huge improvement, we decided to go further.

Did you have any knowledge about what physical therapy could do for you before coming to Preferred Physical Therapy?
Yes, I’ve had physical therapy throughout my entire life, between football injuries and baseball injuries. It’s always been helpful.

What would you say to someone who was hesitant on getting physical therapy?
I would definitely have to recommend this place. This is the first time I’ve felt comfortable and it’s almost like family in a way because you get to know everybody. The other places I’ve gone have just been really cold. You just went in, had your treatment and boom that was it.

Out of all the things that you enjoyed about coming to Preferred Physical Therapy, what was your favorite?
Woo, that’s a tough one. Really! There were quite a few things. The nice thing was after everything was done, the tens treatment with the ice really relaxed my body a lot more than before I came in.

What were you wanting to achieve and did we help you to achieve it?
When I came here three and a half weeks ago, I mean I could barely walk to the car. Within one week I made a pretty big improvement, after the second week I made a gigantic improvement and for the past six days I’ve been fine. There’s been no problem at all.
